Northampton Free School Trust has been approved to open a new non-selective, state-funded primary free school in Overstone Leys in Northampton.

Overstone Park Primary School is proposed to open in a flagship state-of-the-art sustainable new build with 30 Reception learners from September 2025, subject to the required statutory approvals. It will grow by adding a Reception intake each year in line with housing growth and increased demand until reaching full capacity as a two-form entry with 420 learners aged 4-11 years.

Based on the highly successful model established by the hugely oversubscribed all-through Wootton Park School, graded ‘Outstanding’ in all inspection categories in 2019, Overstone Park Primary School’s vision is founded on strong academic achievement, developing strong values and promoting citizenship, community and service, providing a ‘foundation for growth’ where every child will thrive and prosper.

Applications for 2025 Reception places will be made directly to Overstone Park Primary School and will be in addition to the usual local authority process.
